Purely Pinups is a Partnership Business owned exclusively and founded on November 6th, 2007 by Charles D. Parrott (Relic) and Andrea Kennon (Katoik Raz).
All their lives, both Relic and Raz have been big fans of vintage style pinup models and the work they graciously shared with the world. As the two lived through twenty-eight years of life, they saw the beauty and secret sensuality that was the basis of the classic pinup dwindle down into the modern style which hosted the same look in the same setting with the same models doing the same poses. They found this degradation of pinup modeling sad, yet still bearable. It was when they noticed that there were a growing number of people and places who alleged to be real pinup art when they were, in fact, little more than blatant pornography.
Separately, and unbeknownst to each other, they had years before begun the road that would allow them to venture into undertaking the task of bringing back the beauty that is true pinup modeling. Raz had been walking the world of alternative modeling, understanding the ins and outs of the business; while Relic taught himself how to run and code websites. They discovered that the knowledge each lacked on their own was to be found in the other. Together they idly toyed with the idea of starting their own pinup site in 2005, but at that time it simply remained an idea.
In early 2006, Kaotik Raz attempted to become an official model for a world renown alt pinup site. She had original setting ideas and curves to die for; while this site used primarially the same looking models in the same looking settings. Originality wasn't high priority as much as getting women naked and raking in the money from their users.
Frustrated at what pinup modeling had become, Relic and Raz again tossed around the idea of creating their own site. This time they began brainstorming possible names and what would/wouldn't, should/shouldn't happen with the managing of their eventual site.
They announced to each other that they wouldn't fall into the world of pornographic images, even though it was an easy lure for horny viewers. While they both appreciated the human body, they would only feature tasteful nudity. They wouldn't discriminate potential models based on body size or level of curves. They understood that beauty came in many shapes and sizes; big, little, thick, thin, if the picture captured the innate beauty of the model, they would accept it.
But perhaps the biggest difference that Relic and Raz decided that would set their concept apart from the vast majority of other pinup businesses was that they would welcome both male and female models with open arms. It seemed like in almost all the other places males were treated as more of an afterthought of the virtual communities. Such discrimination wouldn't be tolerated at Purely Pinups.
And so, through open discussion and a shared love for what made pinups popular in the first place, Relic and Raz settled upon the perfect name of Purely Pinups. Focusing on what they wanted to share with the world, no more, no less. They were destined to become the true essence of pinup modeling, and using the mantra of "Strength, Wisdom, Beauty"; they seek all three of these qualities in not only themselves, their models, and their business; but in all parts of life as well.
